At Cairns Children’s Museum (CCM) we know the importance of giving back to the community, and we have strong ties with local and regional organisations. Through our participation in community events, we invite families to immerse themselves in STEAM interactive exhibits and engaging activities, fostering curiosity and learning.

With a commitment to nurturing young minds, CCM champions STEAM for kids and actively supports public events across the Cairns region.

We celebrate knowledge and fun, creating memorable moments where children and families delve into the wonders of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics together.

Art Tales

We believe a good story is the starting point of a work of art. With a dap of paint and a curious mind, you will be surprised by the storyteller that lives in every child! Join us for an interactive art session, including storytime, singalong, rhythmic and sensory art activities for your little one to explore.
Please note due to small items present, this session is recommended for ages 2+.
First 5 Forever is an initiative of the Queensland Government, coordinated by State Library of Queensland and delivered in partnership with local government.

STEAM Storytime

STEAM Storytime will challenge children’s thinking and problem-solving skills using a fun and inspiring picture book. After reading the story, children will continue to explore the science, technology, engineering, arts and maths concepts introduced with hands on activities.
Ideal for children aged 2-5 years.
